Fujitrans Corporation provides comprehensive logistics services. Next to its old headquarters, it built a new headquarters building that is kind to both people and the environment. From an environmental perspective, the building has acquired a Class A rank from the CASBEE system for rating building environmental performance, and it features reception-room furniture made with wood obtained from the thinning of the Fujippu company-owned forest. A people-friendly office space with an expansive feel is created using a two-story open ceiling as well as all-glass walls on two sides. The old headquarters building had few spaces for consultations and other communications so finding the needed space was a troublesome task. In the new office, however, there is readily available communication space, a situation which has served to stimulate internal communications. On the top floor there is a cafeteria where employees can enjoy a relaxing lunch. On days when the weather is good, people can have their meals on the terraces located on both sides of the cafeteria. Trees and plants grown on the terraces add to refreshing atmosphere.
