The City of Yokohama is running a program to promote appealing service counters, which involves improving service counters at ward offices. A plan was drawn up to improve the flow of counter services at four existing ward offices for family registration, health insurance and annuity divisions and the like. The current layout was assessed quantitatively based on surveys and analysis, and areas in need of improvement were identified. The new plan seeks to optimize the floor overall by implementing rational improvements based on the findings of the analysis. Furnishing purchases and renovation work are ordered separately in accordance with the plan that was created. After the work is complete, improvements ascertained quantitatively by measuring results and any new issues are identified.
Main improvements: More private consultation counters, spacious waiting areas, large and easy-to-read signs.
